About Us

When we first met Bill Hagedorn, owner of Air Lock Log Homes, at the Big Horn Show in Spokane, Washington, we were impressed to say the least! He put us at ease immediately with his easy going manner, his knowledge of the log home industry, and the pride he showed in his product, and his company. We were hooked…….it seemed our years of searching for the right log home package were over! After touring the plant, located in Thompson Falls, Montana, and meeting the extraordinary group of people who run it, Jeff and I were certain that we had made the right choice. Our decision to not only build an Air Lock Log Home for ourselves, but to also become distributors, was a good one. Bill told us that the only thing that would haunt us, was the question, “Why is there a hole in the log?” He was right…….despite the signs, phamplets, and explanations, the question is asked repeatedly. After answering the question for the thousandth time at a recent show, Jeff, answered, “Mame, it’s for the consumer, cause we’re selling them by the pound”. The consumer replied, “Oh, isn’t that nice”, and we all had a good laugh, ready once again to answer the question, “Why is there a hole in the log”? So, let us answer the question for you. A hole is bored into the center of the log creating a dead air space for better insulation. The hollow log dries faster, minimizing checking, and cracking. The log is lighter for shipping and handling, and the hole provides a natural conduit for electrical wiring. That’s the story in a nutshell…….Jeff and I welcome your inquiries, and we invite you to view our home on line, or call us for an appointment to see our beautiful model home firsthand. Jeff has been a general contractor for over twenty years and has the experience to build your log home for you, or help you do it yourself. We’ll show you how to make your log home dreams come true!

We remain very proud to represent, Air Lock Log Homes.

Sincerely,

Jeff and Joan Lanning
